Romania's industrial production rose 20.4% month-on-month in September on an unadjusted basis, official data showed Monday. The working day and seasonally adjusted industrial output was up 1%.

On an unadjusted basis, manufacturing output surged 25.3% while mining output dropped 0.1%. By main industrial groups, production of intermediate goods climbed 7.8% and that of capital goods surged 70.8%. Durable goods output grew 20.3%.

Compared to the previous year, unadjusted industrial output gained 4.8% and the working day and seasonally adjusted production grew 2.8%.

In the first nine months of the year, industrial production grew 5.2% on an unadjusted basis. During the same period, the adjusted industrial output went up by 4%.

Separately, the statistical office said the volume of construction works increased 16.1% month-on-month in September on an unadjusted basis. Construction output grew 4% after adjusting for the number of working days and seasonal variations.
