The Canadian dollar strengthened against the Japanese yen in early trading on Monday, mainly due to across the board weakening of the latter.
The loonie advanced to a 4-day high of 82.35 against the greenback by 7:50 am ET, compared to last week's close of 81.72.
On the upside, the loonie-yen pair may challenge resistance around the 82.60 level and a move above this mark could set its strongest in more than seven weeks.
