The US Labor Department will release its monthly non-farm payrolls report at 8:30 a.m. ET. Economists expect non-farm payrolls for January to increase by 150,000, but they expect the unemployment rate to tick up to 9.5 percent.
The US dollar showed mixed trading against its major rivals ahead of the data. While the greenback edged slightly lower against the euro, it halted its recent rally against the rest of majors. Currently, the buck is worth 1.3645 against the euro, 81.70 versus the yen, 0.95 against the Swiss franc and 1.6116 against the pound.
