Uber Technologies Inc. ordered an immediate investigation into supposed sexual harassment at the firm, as stated by one of its previous employees.
In a blog post, former Uber engineer Susan Fowler spelled out different situations she experienced during her stay at the ride-hailing firm. One of those is that her new manager attempted to make sexual advances towards her.
Fowler took the matter to the HR, but the latter did not enforce any penalty since this was a first offense. The ex-Uber employee was informed she should attempt and join another group at the company.
Chief Executive Travis Kalanick said Fowler's claims were abhorrent and against their principles and rules. He added the firm will terminate those who behave this way or thinks such acts are fine.
The Uber boss instructed their HR chief to look into these accusations right away, saying they strive to make the company an impartial workplace and they do not tolerate this type of behavior.
