Uber Technologies Inc. has tapped the expertise of former Eric Holder, who served as Barack Obama's US attorney general, to hold an inquiry look into sexual harassment claims, which comes following an engineer claimed she experienced gender inequality and sexism many times.
In an email sent to its employees, Uber Chief Executive Travis Kalanick revealed Monday Holder would mount a separate evaluation on the issue. He added women comprised only 15% of their entire workforce in some divisions.
Kalanick recognized that Uber is greatly affected by the allegations, reiterating their support to those who suffer injustice and that the main priority is to become a better company through this.
Susan Fowler, an ex-Uber engineer who wrote a blog post recalling her stay at the ride-hailing firm, refused to provide a statement Monday.
