US stocks ended mixed on Thursday following the comments made by new Treasury chief Steve Mnuchin, who reiterated he seeks to see substantial tax reforms enacted before Congress' August recess.
Mnuchin said his office has been coordinating with the leaders in the Senate and the House and has been considering a combined proposal.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average stood at 20,810.32, up 34.72%. The S&P 500 closed at 2,363.81, up 0.04%, after it logged a new all-time peak. But the Nasdaq Composite ended at 5,835.51, down erased 0.43%.
Meanwhile, at the New York Stock Exchange, advancers were one step ahead of decliners, recording a composite volume of 3.996 billion and an exchange volume of 926.81 million at the end of trading.
