2011.05.1202:24:00UTC+00European Economics Preview: U.K. Industrial Output Data Due

Industrial production from the U.K. and Eurozone and consumer price figures from France are the major statistical reports due on Thursday.

At 1.30 am ET, French statistical office Insee is scheduled to release inflation figures for April. Annual inflation is seen at 2.1 percent, up from 2 percent in March. Likewise, EU harmonized inflation is forecast to rise to 2.3 percent from 2.2 percent.

Spain inflation data is due at 3.00 am ET. Spanish annual inflation is expected to remain at 3.8 percent in April. On a monthly basis, consumer price inflation is seen at 1.2 percent.

Statistics Sweden is set to release inflation figures for April at 3.30 am ET. Annual inflation is expected to rise to 3.3 percent from 2.9 percent in March. Month-on-month, it is expected to grow 0.4 percent.

Half an hour later, the European Central Bank is set to publish its monthly bulletin.

At 4.30 am ET, the Office for National Statistics is slated to issue U.K. industrial output figures for March. Industrial output is forecast to grow 0.8 percent month-on-month after falling 1.2 percent in February. At the same time, manufacturing output is expected to rise 0.3 percent.

Eurozone industrial production data is due at 5.00 am ET. After rising 0.5 percent in February, industrial output is expected to rise 0.3 percent on a monthly comparison in March.

In the meantime, Greece jobless data for February is also due. The jobless rate was 15.1 percent in January.

At 8.00 am ET, Norway's central bank is expected to announce its interest rate decision.
