Asian shares erased all the gains it scored initially as a surge in Tokyo stumbled and the Japanese yen ascended prior to US President Donald Trump's first speech in a joint Congress session Tuesday.
The MSCI Asia Pacific Index tumbled 0.1% on Tuesday, wiping out an earlier increase heading lower for a third consecutive day. The index gained 2.2% for February from a 4.9% increase in the past month.
The Topix index climbed 0.1% in the session. But Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index tumbled 0.5% while the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index lost 0.3%.
Asian shares ascended following US stocks escalated as the Dow Jones Industrial Average posted its 12th consecutive record close in 30 years.
