The Japanese yen strengthened against most major counterparts in early New York trading on Friday.
Presently, the yen is trading at 133.10 against the pound, 86.56 against the aussie and 115.35 against the euro.
Against the kiwi and the franc, the yen is now quoted at 66.24 and 94.56, compared to fresh 1-1/2-month low of 66.57 and new 2-1/2-year low of 95.03, respectively.
