The Bank of Japan on Monday said the country's corporate service prices rose 0.8 percent on year in February, exceeding the 0.5 percent market expectations, which would have been unchanged from the reading in the previous month.
Corporate service prices were up 0.3 percent on the month after being down 0.5 percent in January.
Prices were up for advertising services, transportation, communications and real estate, while leasing and rental prices fell.
