The South African Reserve Bank on Thursday said the money supply and private sector credit in the country rose at a slower rate in February.
The bank said M3 increased 6.63 percent on year in February from 7.91 percent in January. That missed market expectations for a 7.9 percent increase.
Private sector credit grew 5.26 percent after rising 5.52 percent in January. Economists had forecast a 5.3 percent increase.
