In early deals on Wednesday, the Indian rupee traded lower against its U.S. counterpart. The rupee is now trading at a fresh 1-1/2-year low of 47.975 against the dollar with 49.00 seen as the next downside target level. At Tuesday's close, the pair was worth 47.5.
Today, India will provide August figures for wholesale price inflation.
