Monday, the Bank of England said in a final report that the M4 money supply increased 17.5% year-over-year in January, larger than the 16.2% rise recorded in the previous month. The January M4 money supply growth was unrevised from the preliminary report.
On a monthly basis, money supply grew 2.5% in January, up from 1.4% increase seen in the preceding month.
In January, M4 lending increased GBP 4.5 billion. This was revised down from GBP 4.8 billion seen in the initial report. M4 lending excluding the effects of securitisations grew GBP 10.4 billion, revised down from GBP 10.7 billion.
