Figures from the Chain Store Association on Monday revealed that supermarket sales in Japan dropped further in March.
After adjustment, supermarket sales fell an annual 1.8 percent in March after falling 3.3 percent in the previous month. Sales lost 1.9 percent before adjustment.
On a monthly basis, supermarket sales increased 9.4 percent in March.
