The improved takeover bid of U.S. PPG Industrials for Dutch paint maker Akzo Nobel still did not win Dutch Economic Affairs Minister Henk Kamp's approval.
Kamp said the offer does not change his opinion, reiterating that he still opposes the takeover bid of PPG.
“For the Dutch (economy), it's good that the leadership of Akzo Nobel, both the management board and the supervisory board, is planning to remain independent, and I support that,” Kamp said in an interview.
PPG's current offer is being studied by Akzo.
