Bitcoin is drawing near to its record high as the SEC granted an appeal warranting a reconsideration of a bitcoin-focused ETF.
The virtual currency stood at $1,281.76, up 2.1%, on course for its record high peak of $1,277.65 that was recorded last March 6.
Previously, the federal agency rejected proposals to launch a bitcoin ETF. A few weeks later, it rejected the proposals to unveil a similar investment.
Bitcoin has gained ground in other nations. Japan unveiled the cryptocurrency was classified as a legal tender and a legal payment mode. Then, Russia mentioned it would account all digital currencies in 2018.
