The ADP National Employment report, which sheds light on non-farm private employment, is scheduled to be released at 8:15 am ET. The report is usually released two days prior to the Labor Department's employment report. The private sector in the U.S. is likely to have lost 630,000 jobs in the month.

The US dollar showed weakness against the euro and the franc but held steady against the pound and the yen ahead of the report. As of 8:10 am Eastern Time, the greenback was quoted at 1.4099 against the pound, 1.1786 against the franc, 99.33 versus the yen and 1.2552 against the euro.
