It is too sudden to claim victory on the labor market's recuperation from the recession amid recent development, according to Federal Reserve Governor Lael Brainard.
Brainard said Monday there is still a question on whether full employment has already been attained. Pointing to the study by Fed researchers, she noted the labor market is now formidable enough to take in people searching jobs.
However, the Fed governor said it has not interpreted into surging inflation, saying there is minimal improvement on core inflation and implying further improvement in the said market. She said the central bank will continue to trail the recovery road to attain full employment and low, steady inflation.
Brainard did not touch on the likelihood of another interest rate hike at next month's Fed gathering.
