The Bank of Canada retained its interest rates during its monetary policy gathering, the 15th straight time that the country's monetary authority has done so since 2015.

Canada's central bank retained its rate at 0.50%. The BOC mentioned the worldwide economy keeps gaining ground and recent improvements shore up its view that expansion will slowly strengthen and broaden over the projection horizon.

The BOC said growth in America was feeble in the first quarter, as expected, depicting the majority of temporary elements. It pointed out recent figures reflect a recovery in the succeeding quarter.
