President Donald Trump reiterated there is a need for a sweeping transformation of the US government's technology in order to provide more efficient services to the American people, noting the significance of keeping up with the technology revolution.

Trump on Monday met with the chiefs of 18 technology companies including Alphabet's Eric Schmidt, Apple's Tim Cook, and Microsoft's Satya Nadella, as he seeks their assistance on how to update its computing systems.

The White House plans to improve their IT networks by removing waste, slashing expenses, and upgrading services. Trump and tech bosses talked about the modernization of technological infrastructure and the upgrade of systems for taxpayers.

Amazon's Jeff Bezos said he wanted the Trump administration to utilize all available technologies. Cook noted the US government should have the most modern equipments today.
