Portugal's EU harmonized inflation weakened in September after rising for two straight months, data released by Statistics Portugal showed Thursday.
Inflation measured under the harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) eased to 2.9 percent in September from 3.2 percent in August. In July and June, the inflation rates were 2.8 percent and 2.7 percent respectively.
On a monthly basis, the HICP moved up 0.4 percent in September, the agency said.
At the same time, inflation as per the consumer price index slowed to 2.9 percent in September from 3.1 percent in August. Month-on-month, consumer prices edged up 0.6 percent, reversing the previous month's 0.1 percent decrease.
