The Japanese yen erased some of its early Asian session downtrend across the board in the middle of the session on Wednesday.
The yen climbed to a 6-day high of 79.73 against the Canadian dollar, compared to yesterday's closing quote of 79.99. The yen also tested yesterday's highs against the greenback, rising as much as 78.64, up from 78.90 hit late new York Tuesday.
The yen that fell to 4-week lows of 103.54 against the euro and 85.64 against the Swiss franc at the beginning of the session bounced back to 103.0 and 85.17, respectively. Erasing some of this week's losses, the yen advanced to 126.80 against the pound after having tested yesterday's 11-day low of 127.36.
The yen that slipped to a fresh 3-week low of 81.40 against the Australian dollar and tested yesterday's low of 64.57 against the NZ dollar snapped back to 81.06 and 64.24, respectively.
