At 4.30 am ET, the Bank of England is scheduled to release minutes of the Monetary Policy meeting held on October 3 and 4. Policymakers had retained the size of the quantitative easing programme at GBP 375 billion and left the interest rate unchanged at 0.50 percent.
In the meantime, U.K. claimant count data for September is due. Economists expect claimant count to remain flat in September. The ILO jobless rate for three months to August is seen at 8.1 percent.
The pound held steady against its major counterparts ahead of the data. As of 4:25 am ET, the British sterling was trading at 1.49 against the Swiss franc, 1.6130 against the US dollar, 127.10 against the yen and 0.8130 against the euro.
