Malaysia's Department of Statistics said consumer price inflation in the country eased more than expected in July.
From June's 3.6 percent rise, Malaysia's consumer price index eased to 3.2 percent annually in July.
That compared to market forecasts for a 3.4 percent increase.
Transport prices rose an annual 7.7 percent in July. Food and non-alcoholic beverages costs climbed 4.2 percent while clothing and footwear costs fell 0.4 percent.On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged down 0.1 percent from June, when it decreased by 0.2 percent.
