The New Zealand dollar extended previous session's uptrend against its major counterparts in New York morning trading on Wednesday. The kiwi advanced to new multi-week highs against the US dollar, Aussie and the Japanese yen during the same time.

The NZ dollar strengthened further against its US and Japanese counterparts in New York morning deals on Wednesday. At 10:10 am ET, the kiwi hit fresh multi-week highs of 0.5953 against the US dollar and 51.99 versus the yen, compared to yesterday's close of 0.5789 and 51.59, respectively. Currently, the kiwi is worth 51.61 against the yen and 0.5871 versus the greenback.

Against the Australian dollar, the kiwi also showed strength in New York morning today. The NZ dollar surged to a new multi-week high of 1.1779 versus the Aussie by about 11:15 am ET from Tuesday's closing value of 1.2004. Currently, the pair is trading near 1.1828.
