Following the release of Commerce Department's wholesale inventories for December at 10:00 am ET, the US dollar was little changed against its major rivals. As of 10:05 am ET, the greenback was trading at 1.3647 against the euro, 1.6441 against the pound, 0.8970 against the Swiss franc and 102.40 against the yen.

The U.S. wholesale inventories rose 0.3 percent month-over-month in December following 0.5 percent growth in the previous month. Economists expected wholesale inventories to have increased by 0.6 percent month-over-month in December.
