South Africa's producer price inflation accelerated for the fourth successive month in March, figures from Statistics South Africa showed Wednesday.
The producer price index climbed 8.2 percent annually in March, following a 7.7 percent gain in February. The increase is the fastest in the series that began in 2013. The latest inflation figure was higher than economists' forecast of 7.8 percent.
On a monthly basis, producer prices increased 1.3 percent in March compared to February. Economists were looking for a 0.9 percent rise.
