U.K. retail sales data for May is due at 4:30 am ET Thursday. Ahead of the data, the pound showed mixed trading against the major currencies.
The pound was worth 1.7020 against the greenback, 1.5189 against the franc, 0.8012 against the euro and 173.23 against the yen as of 4:25 am ET.
