U.K 's Office for National Statistics is scheduled to release its retail sales data for June at 4:30 am ET Thursday. Retail sales including automobile fuel are expected to grow by 3.9 percent year-over-year in June, the same as in May. Sales including fuel are estimated to rebound by 0.3 percent month-over-month in June after the 0.5 percent drop in May.

Ahead of the data, the Pound showed mixed trading against its major rivals. While the pound fell against the euro and the Swiss franc, it held steady against the yen and the greenback.

As of 4:25 am ET, the British currency was trading at 0.7907 against the Euro, 1.5363 against the Swiss franc, 1.7036 against the U.S. dollar and 172.90 against the Yen.
