Automobile production in Japan continued to decline in September, figures from the Japan Automobile Manufactures Association showed Thursday.
Four-wheeled vehicle production fell 2.6 percent year-over-year in September to 851,051 from 873,744 in the same month of the previous year. This marked the third consecutive month of decline in production.
Domestic sales declined 0.8 percent and exports slid 3.3 percent.
Passenger car production slipped 4.1 percent. Meanwhile, production of trucks and buses rose 5.6 percent, and 13.4 percent, respectively.
