2015.03.3101:46:00UTC+00European Economics Preview: Eurozone Consumer Prices, Unemployment Data Due

Consumer prices and unemployment reports from Eurozone are due on Tuesday, headlining a hectic day for the European economic news.

At 2.00 am ET, Germany's statistical office is slated to release retail sales data for February. Sales are forecast to fall 0.7 percent month-on-month in February following January's 2.3 percent increase.

At 2.45 am ET, the French statistical office Insee is scheduled to release consumer spending and producer prices for February. Economists forecast spending to fall 0.1 percent on a monthly basis, reversing January's 0.6 percent rise.

At 3.00 am ET, a slew of statistical reports are due. Retail sales from Spain, producer prices from Hungary and GDP and trade data from Turkey are due. Spain's retail sales are forecast to grow 4.1 percent year-on-year in February versus 4.2 percent increase a month ago.

In the meantime, final GDP from the Czech Republic and Denmark are also due.

At 3.55 am ET, Germany's Federal Labor Agency is slated to release unemployment data. The jobless rate is expected to remain unchanged at 6.5 percent in March. The number of people out of work is forecast to drop by 12,000.

Italy's statistical office Istat is set to issue unemployment figure for February at 4.00 am ET. The jobless rate was at 12.6 percent in January.

Half an hour later, the Office for National Statistics releases the third estimate for the U.K. fourth quarter GDP. The economy grew 0.5 percent sequentially according to previous estimate.

Eurostat is set to publish flash Eurozone consumer prices and unemployment data at 5.00 am ET. Flash consumer prices are forecast to drop 0.1 percent annually in March following a 0.3 percent fall in February. The jobless rate is expected to remain unchanged at 11.2 percent.

In the meantime, Italy's preliminary consumer price data for March is due. Consumer prices fell 0.1 percent annually in February.
