Business investment in the UK, measured in chain volume terms seasonally adjusted decreased 1.3% quarter-on-quarter in the third quarter, the Office for National Statistics said Friday. On an annual basis, investment edged down 0.1%. The value of total investment in the third quarter was GBP 35.57 billion.
Investment by private and public sector manufacturing grew 2.3% from the second quarter and rose 2.3% over a year ago. Within the private sector, business investment in the service sector fell 1.3%, in the construction and other production dropped 4.6% since the previous quarter.
