Hong Kong is scheduled to release November numbers for its consumer price index on Monday, setting the pace for a light day in Asian economic news. Analysts are expecting an increase of between 1.4 and 2 percent on year following the 1.8 percent annual expansion in October.

Taiwan will announce November numbers for commercial sales and seasonally adjusted unemployment. Commercial sales are expected to decline 5.14 percent on year following the 2.17 percent annual contraction in October. Unemployment is expected to come in between 4.5 and 4.6 percent higher on an annual basis, up from the 4.29 percent on-year growth in the previous month.

Malaysia is set to announce foreign reserves data for the period ending December 15. Forecasts call for a total of $94.87 billion, down from $97.69 billion in the previous reporting period.
