Cabinet office is set to release preliminary Japan leading economic indicators data for June at 1:00 am ET Friday. The leading index is expected to remain unchanged at 99.7 in June.
Ahead of the data, the yen held steady against its major rivals.
As of 12:55 am ET, the yen was trading at 112.64 against the euro, 132.84 against the pound, 101.14 against the Swiss franc and 103.85 against the U.S. dollar.
