Following the release of U.S. jobless claims report for the week ended August 13th at 8:30 am ET Thursday, the greenback rose slightly against the other major counterparts.
The greenback was trading at 1.1309 against the euro, 100.44 against the yen, 0.9595 against the franc and 1.3146 against the pound around 8:34 am ET.
