Gold futures remained flat Tuesday morning ahead of a this week's highly-anticipated commentary from Fed Chair Janet Yellen.
Yellen will give her assessment of the economy and interest rate outlook in a speech during an annual meeting of central bankers in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, on Friday.
Over the weekend, Fed Vice Chair Stan Fischer said the Fed is close to hitting its targets for full employment and 2 percent inflation.
Gold for December was up 1 dollar at $1345 an ounce, having seen little movement this week.
