Following the release of the University of Michigan's final estimate of its U.S. consumer sentiment for August at 10 am ET Friday, the greenback climbed against its major rivals.
The greenback was trading at 1.1246 against the euro, 100.64 against the yen, 0.9708 against the franc and 1.3182 against the pound around 10:01 am ET.
