The Bank of Canada's interest rate decision and Ivey PMI are due at 10:00 am ET Wednesday. The central bank is forecast to retain rate at 0.50 percent.
The loonie showed mixed trading against its major rivals ahead of these reports. While the loonie rose against the greenback and the euro, it held steady against the yen. Against the aussie, the loonie declined.
The loonie was valued at 1.2834 against the greenback, 79.10 against the yen, 1.4437 against the euro and 0.9865 against the aussie as of 9:55 am ET.
