The Japanese yen strengthened against the other major currencies in the Asian session on Friday.
The yen rose to 3-day highs of 114.43 against the euro, 101.74 against the U.S. dollar and 104.70 against the Swiss franc, from yesterday's closing quotes of 114.79, 102.07 and 105.03, respectively.
The yen advanced to 74.42 against the NZ dollar, from an early 2-day low of 74.78.
The yen climbed to 134.67 against the pound, from yesterday's closing value of 135.09.
Against the Australian and the Canadian dollars, the yen edged up to 76.37 and 77.35 from yesterday's closing quotes of 76.69 and 77.55, respectively.
If the yen extends its uptrend, it is likely to find resistance around 112.00 against the euro, 100.00 against the greenback, 103.00 against the franc, 72.00 against the kiwi, 132.00 against the pound, 74.00 against the aussie and 75.00 against the loonie.
