Statistics Canada has released Canada GDP data for December at 8:30 am Thursday.
After the data, the loonie rose against its major rivals.
As of 8:35 am ET, the loonie was trading at 1.4048 against the euro, 1.014 against the aussie, 1.3364 against the greenback and 85.59 against the yen.
