Taiwan's unemployment rate decreased less-than-expected in February, after rising in the previous month, the Directorate General of Budget Accounting and Statistics, or DGBAS, showed Wednesday.
The seasonally adjusted jobless rate edged down to 3.83 percent in February from 3.84 percent in January. Economists had expected the rate to fall to 3.82 percent.
The number of unemployed people declined to 451,000 in February from 452,000 in the prior month. A year ago, the jobless figure totaled 460,000.
The labor force participation rate came in at 58.81 percent in February, up from 58.78 percent a month earlier.
On an unadjusted basis, the unemployment rate climbed to 3.85 percent from 3.78 percent.
