The Japanese yen weakened against most major currencies in the early European session on Monday.
The yen fell to 142.94 against the pound, from an early high of 142.28.
Against the euro and the Swiss franc, the yen dropped to 124.49 and 114.27 from early highs of 124.21 and 114.95, respectively.
If the yen extends its downtrend, it is likely to find support around 147.00 against the pound, 126.00 against the euro and 116.00 against the franc.
