The unemployment rate in Australia came in at a seasonally adjusted 5.6 percent in June, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Thursday.
That was in line with expectations and unchanged from the May reading following an upward revision from 5.5 percent.
The Australian economy added 14,000 jobs in June, shy of expectations for 15,000 following the downwardly revised 38,000 in the previous month (originally 42,000).
The participation rate ticked up to 65.0, exceeding expectations for 64.9, which would have been unchanged.
