South Africa's wholesale sales declined for the second straight month in May, preliminary figures from Statistics South Africa showed Thursday.
Wholesale trade fell an unadjusted 4.1 percent year-over-year in May, which was worse than the 2.7 percent decrease in April.
On a monthly basis, wholesale sales dropped 3.6 percent in April, reversing a 2.3 percent rise in April.
At current prices, wholesale sales grew 0.9 percent annually in May, while it slid 3.3 percent from the preceding month.
