At 3.15 am ET Friday, the Federal Statistical Office publishes Swiss retail sales data for July. Sales had advanced 1.5 percent on year in June.
Ahead of the data, the franc traded mixed against its major rivals. While the franc held steady against the pound and the yen, it fell against the greenback. Against the euro, the franc rose.
The franc was worth 114.69 against the yen, 1.1416 against the euro, 1.2409 against the pound and 0.9610 against the greenback as of 3:10 am ET.
