Japan's final industrial production data for July is due at 12:30 am ET Thursday.
Ahead of the data, the yen held steady against its major rivals.
As of 12:25 am ET, the yen was trading at 131.17 against the euro, 145.82 against the pound, 114.56 against the Swiss franc and 110.44 against the U.S. dollar.
