As expected, the Bank of England kept its interest rate at a record low of 0.25 percent and asset purchase plan at GBP 435 billion. The pound recovered from its early lows against its major rivals after the decision.
The pound was trading at 146.48 against the yen, 1.2811 against the franc, 0.8968 against the euro and 1.3269 against the greenback around 7:02 am ET.
