The Australian dollar strengthened against major currencies in the Asian session on Tuesday.
The Australian dollar rose to nearly a 2-week high of 0.9818 against the Canadian dollar, from yesterday's closing value of 0.9782.
Against the U.S. dollar, the yen and the euro, the aussie advanced to 0.7993, 89.82 and 1.4971 from yesterday's closing quotes of 0.7958, 88.79 and 1.5011, respectively.
If the aussie extends its uptrend, it is likely to find resistance around 1.00 against the loonie, 0.81 against the greenback, 90.00 against the yen and 1.47 against the euro.
