France's economic growth held steady in the second quarter as previously estimated, latest figures from the statistical office Insee showed Friday.
Gross domestic product expanded 0.5 percent sequentially, the same pace of growth as seen in the first quarter. This was in line with the estimate published on August 29.
Data today showed that households' disposable income rose 0.6 percent on quarter versus a 0.7 percent increase in the first quarter. Wages received by households grew at a slower pace of 0.8 percent after gaining 1.1 percent.
Households' consumption prices retreated in the second quarter, with a 0.2 percent fall after climbing 0.5 percent a quarter ago, so that households' purchasing power strongly accelerated, Insee said.
