Brazil's business confidence improved for the third straight month in September, though marginally, preliminary figures from the Getulio Vargas Foundation, or FGV showed Friday.

The index measuring confidence in the industrial sector rose to 92.3 in September from 92.2 in August.

The current situation index fell to 89.6 in September from 90.0 in the previous month. In contrast, the outlook index strengthened from 94.4 to 95.1.

Data also revealed that the capacity utilization level in the industrial sector was 74.0 percent in September versus 74.1 percent in August.
